TREASURE project by Hamburg Institute

Our partners from Hamburg Institut, have released an article in German about the TREASURE project.

The article discusses the pursuit of cost-effective, sustainable, and durable solutions for large-scale thermal energy storage. Introducing the TREASURE project, a four-year initiative focused on bridging research and practice within a European consortium, including the Hamburg Institut.

The project aims to develop secure and intelligent system integration concepts, particularly focusing on the construction of seven demonstration sites for pit thermal energy storage across five EU countries. These efforts are vital for accelerating the adoption of large thermal energy storage systems, thereby contributing to fully renewable district heating networks and industrial heating systems.

The article emphasizes the importance of thermal energy storage in achieving a decarbonized European energy system, aligning with the goals outlined in the EU's Green Deal. Read the full article in German below.
