Meet TREASURE at Two September Events in Germany
This September, TREASURE partners Hamburg Institut and Hansestadt Rostock will take part in two events in northern Germany – the 4th Conference of Northern German Heat Research in Flensburg and Klima-Aktionstag Rostock.
Together, they offer opportunities to engage both energy professionals and the wider public with topics related to sustainable heating and thermal energy storage.
4th Conference of Northern German Heat Research
17–18 September 2026 | Hochschule Flensburg, Flensburg, Germany
The 4th Conference of Northern German Heat Research brings together experts from science, business and politics to discuss solutions for the heat transition. It focuses on the current state of the heat transition and the steps needed to advance it, exploring challenges in heat supply, infrastructure and technologies alongside practical pathways for transforming heating systems.
TREASURE partner Hamburg Institut will contribute to the storage technologies session on 17 September. Kristina Schumacher will present an approach to modelling pit thermal energy storage in MILP models, while Justus Börms will present research on mobile heat transport by ship.
Klima-Aktionstag Rostock 2026
26 September 2026 | 11:00–17:00 | Rostock, Germany
TREASURE partner Hansestadt Rostock will take part in the annual Klima-Aktionstag Rostock, a public event focused on climate protection and sustainability. The event concludes Rostock Sustainability Week and brings together information stands, workshops, presentations and activities for visitors across the city centre.
Within TREASURE, Hansestadt Rostock contributes to work on sustainable heating and seasonal large-scale thermal energy storage, making the event an opportunity to introduce these activities to the local community.
