TREASURE invites you to upcoming IEA-ES Task 45 events

The TREASURE project partners from PlanEnergi are pleased to invite stakeholders and researchers to two upcoming events organised by the IEA Energy Storage (IEA-ES) Task 45 team, focusing on accelerating the uptake of Large Thermal Energy Storage (LTES) across Europe.

The first event, Live Q&A Session 2.1, will take place on 27 November 2025 (13:30–15:00 CET) and will bring together leading LTES experts to address key questions related to:

  • EU regulations and legal aspects of LTES projects

  • Market potential and economic perspectives

  • System integration and technical challenges

The second event, Webinar 2, scheduled for 16 December 2025 (9:30–12:30 CET), will explore the main phases of LTES projects — from feasibility and design to tendering and monitoring. The session will feature practical case studies from:

  • The BTES project in Emmaboda (Sweden) – Lund University

  • The 56,000 m³ TTES project in Berlin (Germany) – BEW Berliner

  • The 70,000 m³ PTES project in Høje Taastrup (Denmark) – PlanEnergi

  • The ATES system in Middenmeer (Netherlands) – DTESS BV

Additionally, Öko-Institut will present on “Optimised Integration of Thermal Aquifer Storage in District Heating Systems,” complemented by an overview of the economic aspects of LTES implementation.

Both events are free of charge, but registration is required.
